About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Binche lace. The repeating, not so clearly defined pattern consists of a palmette, which is alternated by C-shaped motifs that are linked to each other with snowflakes. The motifs are connected to each other by a plaited ground in combination with a coarse snowflake ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch and net stitch with openwork edges. Top and bottom are finished straight and provided with picots, but they are a bit frayed due to damage.
