About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket to his mouth and blowing over the pan (the powder reservoir). In his left hand, besides the musket, a fork (musket fork) and a lit match. In his right hand, a powder flask. Drawing after print numbered 16 in the series of 43 numbered prints of musketeers from De Gheyn's Wapenhandelinghe of 1607.
