About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) with his left hand, having just fired, the barrel angled upwards to prevent accidentally wounding a comrade. In his left hand, besides the ramrod, a lit match. With his right hand, he pulls the fork (the musket fork) from under the barrel. This print is part of the series of 43 numbered prints of musketeers from the Wapenhandelinghe.
