About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) and a fork (musket fork) with his left hand. With his right hand, he removes the lit match lying on the pan (part of the ignition mechanism) of his musket. This print is part of the series of 43 numbered prints of musketeers from the Wapenhandelinghe.
