About this work
A soldier on guard, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) at his right side, his right index finger on the trigger, his left hand around the fork of the fork (musket fork) upon which the barrel, angled upwards, rests. In his left hand, also a lit match. This print is part of the series of 43 numbered prints of musketeers from the Wapenhandelinghe.
