About this work
In an interior, a family celebrates Saint Nicholas Day. The father sits by the fireplace reading, behind him two daughters show their dolls they have received. On the floor, a child is eating from a bowl of cookies and sweets. On the left, a crying boy who has only received a shoe; the maid behind him has his shoe with the shoe inside.
