Two Labourers

Two men stand on uneven ground outdoors. The man on the left wears a knee-length hip-cloth (veshti, lungi) folded double, knotted, and tied at the waist. From his shoulders hang the long ends of a folded checkered cloth (chadar). A cloth is knotted around his head; his short hair is still visible. The man on the right also wears a hip-cloth (veshti, lungi) above the knees, wrapped with one end passed between the legs to the back, then tucked and folded at the waist (like a dhoti). A loose checkered or striped cloth (chadar) is draped over his head with short hair, hanging down his back, one end tucked under his left arm.
