Three labourers

Outdoors, on sloping uneven terrain, with rocks or a mound of earth in the right foreground, three men are drawn. The standing man on the left has his hip cloth (veshti, lungi) wrapped high around the hips, securely tucked at the waist, and the end of it is draped over his left shoulder and arm. His upper body, right arm, and legs are bare. His earlobes have stretched holes. In the center, sitting on the ground on a spread-out shawl (chadar) full of folds, is a man with knees drawn up. He wears a hip cloth (veshti, lungi) passed between the legs and tucked at the waist. A shawl (chadar) hangs over his right shoulder, also covering his right arm. His legs, knees, upper body, and left arm are bare. His hair, combed tightly back, appears to be tied in a knot wrapped with cloth, visible to the left of his head. The standing man on the right wears a hip cloth (veshti, lungi), tucked at the waist under a cloth wrapped around his waist. A folded shawl (chadar) lies over his left shoulder.
