Britse ridderorde (The Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George), ontvangen door Willem Drees

Box covered in black leather, with the letters 'G.C.M.G.' on the outside of the lid, containing the insignia of the Grand Cross (Knight Grand Cross) of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George, United Kingdom, awarded to Prime Minister W. Drees; the order was established in 1818, has the reigning monarch as its head and is awarded to foreigners only on rare occasions. The insignia consist of a badge with sash and star. The badge is a seven-armed, white-enamelled golden star hanging from the crown of the empire. The central medallion shows on one side in multiple colours the Archangel Michael with flaming sword trampling the devil, with the motto 'Auspicium melioris aevi' (A pledge for better times); the reverse shows Saint George and the dragon and has the same motto. The badge is attached with a ring to a blue sash with red stripes. The star is a seven-armed, diamond-set silver star with golden rays between the arms, upon which lies a red St.
