In the centre of the cross in medallion form the round mirror monogram of King George I on a red ground with the motto in gold on a white ground 'Iskhys moy e agape toy laou' ('The love of the people is my strength'). The badge is attached to a dark red sash. At the star the smaller badge is attached to an eight-armed silver ray star; the star is pinned to the clothing. The elongated box is lined on the inside with white silk; the two badges lie on a blue velvet elevation, underneath which the sash is placed.
