About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) in his left hand. With his right hand, he presses a burning match onto the cock (part of the firing mechanism) of his musket. This print is part of the series of 43 hand-numbered prints of musketeers in the Wapenhandelinghe.
