About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, seen from the back, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) in his left hand at his left thigh and with his right hand taking the ramrod from the holder under the barrel. In his left hand, besides the musket, a burning match; on his left wrist, a fork (musket fork). This print is part of the series of 43 hand-numbered prints of musketeers in the Wapenhandelinghe.
