About this work
Polychromed and fully planked wooden model of a steam battery, black above the waterline and grey below. It represents a converted line-of-battle ship: on the upper deck a superstructure has been added with two turrets and a retractable chimney, the hull above the waterline is made vertical, resulting in the elliptical stern being changed into a pointed stern. The sternpost has been replaced by a vertical sternpost, behind which is a propeller frame and a rudderpost with rudder. The turrets are fourteenth-sided, each side with a gun port, and have a flat top. Flat sheer, round frame. Scale 1:50 (according to Obreen).
