About this work

Model of a capstan on a wooden floor. It is a capstan for eight windlasses and has four pawls in the heel against backsliding. The drum has four 'Brown' clamps (cf. NG-MC-195). The king, which is fixed in the floor with a square heel and around which the drum rotates, is made of brass and is secured under the deck plates of the head with a nut; the floor is significantly reinforced. Scale 1:10 (according to Obreen).
