Model of a Slide for a Gun Carriage of a Coastal Battery

Model of the lower carriage of a cannon from a coastal battery, incomplete. It consists of a rectangular frame with brass fittings; the beams in the longitudinal direction have upward-curving ends. On the crossbeam at the back, the fitting for the trail is attached. In front of the trail, the carriage has a hole for a swivel spindle in the front crossbeam, and fittings for two swivel wheels in the raised rear crossbeam: the axles of the wheels are radial to the swivel point.
