About this work

Model of a spit on a floorboard. The drum, suspended between two cheeks, has eight continuous holes for windlasses: the spit can also be operated with a single windlass on the starboard cheek, which engages a pawl in a gear wheel. In the center stands a support with two wooden and four metal pawls that engage the gear section of the drum to prevent backsliding. Scale 1:10 (estimate).
