About this work
Saber for officers of carbineers or cuirassiers, 1815-1830. The blade is triangular and the hilt of cast brass. Pearl on the grip, on the knuckle bow a jumping grenade. Under the knuckle bow 'S. de Jager' and the letters 'I.V.E.'. With engraving, slightly blued and gilded. With black leather scabbard. Brass muzzle and ear band with hook. Worn by H. baron de Vos van Steenwijk as a cadet in the 3rd Division of Cuirassiers.
