About this work

Saber for officers of carbineers or cuirassiers, 1815-1830, with triangular blade. The hilt is of cast brass. Pearl on the grip. On the knuckle bow a jumping grenade. Under the knuckle bow 'S. de Jager' and the letters 'I.V.E.'. Engraving. Partially blued and gilded. With black leather scabbard. Brass muzzle and ear band with hook. Worn by J.A. baron de Vos van Steenwijk, former regimental sergeant major of the 3rd Regiment of Dragoons. As a cadet (?) in the division of cuirassiers.
