About this work
Hanger with fire-gilded copper hilt, consisting of a pommel with acanthus leaves, a quillon similarly ornamented. Grip wrapped with silver wire. Two non-folding quillons, engraved: H.G. Seelig. Half-parrying quillon with a pommel with acanthus leaves. Iron blade decorated with trophies and floral motifs, etched, blued, and fire-gilded. Between the blade and the quillon, red woolen cloth. Black leather scabbard. Copper fire-gilded upper band with a carrying knob. Scabbard covered with red wool.
