About this work

Percussion pistol, part of a pair, with a smooth octagonal iron barrel ending in a sight bead. The barrel bears the mark 'G.&.W. PISTOR, IN SCHMALKALDEN'. The stock is wooden with an iron ramrod tube underneath containing an iron ramrod. A flat iron lock with engraved floral motifs; the iron cock features an incised floral motif. The wooden stock has a ribbed grip and an iron butt plate. An iron trigger guard with curling leaves. Iron leaf-shaped mountings on the left side of the pistol.
