About this work

Percussion pistol, part of a pair, with a smooth iron octagonal barrel ending in a front sight bead. On the barrel, the mark 'G.&.W. PISTOR, IN SCHMALKALDEN'. The stock is wood with an iron ramrod tube on the underside containing an iron ramrod. Flat iron lock with engraved floral motifs; the iron cock bears an incised floral motif. The butt is wood with a ribbed grip; the butt plate is iron. Iron trigger guard with curling leaves. On the left side of the pistol, iron mounts in the form of leaves.
