About this work

Pistol with flintlock, part of a pair. Slightly engraved round barrel, marked. The barrel is fitted for rear-loading by means of a screw closure with a large screw. Round lock plate, marked: 'BIDET'. Brass side plate decorated in relief. Slightly worked stock. Brass furniture decorated in relief and engraved. Rotating trigger guard, which operates the screw closure. No ramrod. On the thumb plate the engraved coat of arms of Van Schuylenburg. System 'La Chonnette'. The pistols are from the great-grandfather of Van Schuylenburg or his brother.
