About this work
Emblematic print on the Peace of Westminster, concluded on 15 April 1654, which put an end to the First Anglo-Dutch War. The Dutch and English Maidens sitting next to each other shake hands. They carry in their hands the national coat of arms and an olive branch. In the sky putti with a festoon. In the background over the balustrade a naval battle. Printed on the sheet below the plate a verse in two columns.
