About this work

An old man enthroned on a wall, in hand a scepter with an eye, symbolizing vigilance in state governance, is offered a crown. Left a painting showing the library of the Ptolemies. Right in the background a soldier climbing into the house of Cleopatra on the orders of Octavius. In the frame of the cartouche medallions with portraits of Ptolemy and Seleucus.
