About this work

Page from a book (p. 37) with text on the verso. In an oval cartouche a farmer catching birds with a net and another farmer catching birds with a decoy and a lime stick. Above the cartouche the title (motto) of the print and a quote from the Bible (Proverbs 19:19). Below the print an inscription: 'In strick, en teer, is het verweer' and a description explains: life knows many setbacks, it is better to endure them patiently than to defend oneself and thereby suffer even more.
