About this work
Display of the Earth's Blossoming. Part of the displays performed on June 23, 1648, at the Schouwburg in Amsterdam following the signing of the Peace of Münster. The fourth display shows how the Earth and Abundance recover after the war, and the virtues return from the heavenly realm (with Apollo) to the earth. In the inscription, an eight-line verse in Dutch.
