About this work

Top left: a putto lying on his back in the water; top right: a putto with a branch in his hand, riding a dolphin; bottom left: a putto with a harpoon on a spouting fish; bottom right: a putto fishing at the water's edge. Sheet from a series of flat decorations with grotesques, cartouches, ovals, mascarons, putti, and fantastic creatures. The series consists of three title pages, two text pages with the dedication and preface, and 60 sheets, divided into three books.
