About this work
As the ship on which Jonah fled threatens to sink in a storm, Jonah is chosen by lot as the guilty party. He is thrown overboard by the crew. In the foreground, the fish swims, ready to swallow Jonah. Below the scene is a Latin reference to the biblical text in Jonah 2. This print is part of an album.
