About this work
Two biblical allegories in architectural framing. To the left the fallen Man, who is led by self-love, lust, desire and pride, is bound to a tree by the personification of Disobedience. To the right the bound Man is hunted by the personification of Sin with a whip. Below both representations a four-line verse in Dutch and a four-line text in Latin. Number 3 and 4 from a Reformation series on the sinfulness and justification of man.
