About this work

Young woman, seen from the back, dressed in a gown with short sleeves, according to the fashion of 1795. With her right hand, she holds up her gown. Around her shoulders, a shawl trimmed with fringe. Tied neckerchief. Stockings with contrasting heels. Further accessories: Hat with large brim, long gloves, flat shoes with pointed toes. From Costumes civils et militaires de la monarchie française de 1200 à 1820, 3rd Vol. nos. 201-300.
