On the right scene Salome approaches during Herod's feast with the head of John the Baptist (Mar. 6). In the background: the apostles distributing bread to the crowd at Christ's command (Mat. 14:18), the Transfiguration of Christ (Mat. 17:7), Christ and the woman caught in adultery (Joh. 8:7) and the Good Shepherd (Joh. 10).
