About this work

While Zechariah burns incense in the temple the angel Gabriel appears to him to announce to him the birth of his son John the Baptist. Zechariah and Gabriel stand before an altar, believers present in the temple kneel before the angel. Above the image a title. Below it six lines of verse and a reference to Luke 1: 11-15. The print is part of an album.
