About this work
Two pages with thirty-one affixed and labeled samples (371-385) of individual vignettes and emblems in gold and silver-colored metal foil (samples nos. 395, 363, 351, and 385 missing). On the opposite left page, a table with handwritten corresponding specifications (in code) for each ornament. Part of the sample book donated by the Van Rijn ladies, presumably from a French manufacturer of luxury papers or its representative in the Netherlands, ca. 1830.
