About this work
Two pages with eleven affixed and labeled samples (682-377) of individual vignettes and emblems in gold-colored metal foil (samples nos. 379, 378, and 373 missing). On the opposite right page, a table with handwritten corresponding specifications (in code) for each ornament. Part of the sample book donated by the Van Rijn ladies, presumably from a French manufacturer of luxury papers or its representative in the Netherlands, ca. 1830.
