About this work
Two pages with ten affixed and labeled samples (375-384) of individual vignettes and emblems in gold and multicolored metal foil (sample no. 386 missing). On the opposite left page, a table with handwritten corresponding specifications (in code) for each ornament. Part of the sample book donated by the Van Rijn ladies, presumably from a French manufacturer of luxury papers or its representative in the Netherlands, ca. 1830.
