About this work
Two pages with 8 pasted and labeled (85-118) samples of decorative strips of gold-colored metal paper on the right. Decorative strips with figurative representations: oak leaves, a hunting scene, and classical representations of a woman attended by her maids, and of swans and figures by a fountain. On the opposite left page, a table with handwritten corresponding specifications (in code) per ornament. Part of the sample book donated by the Van Rijn ladies, presumably from a French manufacturer of luxury papers, or his representative in the Netherlands, ca. 1830.
