About this work
The sailing carriage of Simon Stevin (central plate), 1602. Prince Maurice made a trip with a group of friends over the beach of Scheveningen to Petten in the sailing carriage built by Simon Stevin, April-May 1602. The prince sits among his friends in the carriage. In the foreground a stone tablet with an inscription in Latin (the dedication). Central plate (numbered b) of a large representation consisting of three parts.
