About this work

Benjamin, the twelfth and last son of Jacob. Next to Benjamin a wolf devours a sheep. In the background a statue, probably of a harpy. All attributes refer to Jacob's blessing of Benjamin in Genesis 49. The print is part of a series on the twelve sons of Jacob and patriarchs of Israel and has a Dutch and Latin inscription.
