Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left Saint Anastasius as a pope pointing at a kneeling man, top right Saint Theodora kneeling before her executioner who draws his sword, bottom left Saint Vitalis and his wife Saint Valeria with palm branches, bottom right Saint Peter Martyr of Verona being attacked by a man with a sword. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are always printed on one sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, there are in total 124 plates (490 scenes). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut in the third state into 12 small prints, and issued with a separate title page.
