Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left Saint Nicostratus and Saint Antiochus in soldier's clothing with palm branches, top right Saint Julia of Corsica being crucified at a coast, bottom left Saint Desiderius of Vienne being strangled in the presence of a troop of soldiers, bottom right Saint Susanna, Saint Marciana, Saint Palladia and their children with palm branches. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are always printed on one sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, there are in total 124 plates (490 scenes). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut in the third state into 12 small prints, and issued with a separate title page.
