Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left Saint Vitus with an angel, his caretaker Saint Crescentia and her husband Modestus at a coast, top right Saint Julitta being beaten with bundles of twigs while her little son Quiricus is killed by a king, bottom left Saint Wulmar in a tree accepting bread from a farmer, bottom right Saint Elizabeth of Schönau trampling a dragon. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are always printed on one sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, there are in total 124 plates (490 scenes). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut in the third state into 12 small prints, and issued with a separate title page.
