Chains of Peter, Our Lady of the Angels, Finding of the Relics of Saint Stephen, Saint Dominic Guzmán of Caleruega (1-4 August)

Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left Saint Apostle Peter in a prison with an angel at his feet, top right Mary seated next to Christ and surrounded by angels and monks, bottom left the dead body of Saint Stephen on a heavenly bed with a man at the foot of the bed, bottom right Saint Dominic beholding Mary with the Christ Child in heaven. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are printed on each sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, the series comprises 124 plates (490 depictions). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut down in the third state to 12 small prints and issued with a separate title page.
