Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left Saint Odilia of Odilienberg with a book, top right Saints Nicasius and Eutropia of Reims who are murdered at an altar, bottom left Saint Agnellus of Naples with a banner before a city wall being stormed, bottom right Saints Thyrsus and Callinicus of Apollonia who are roasted on a grill. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are printed on each sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, the series comprises 124 plates (490 scenes). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut down in the third state to 12 small prints, and issued with a separate title page.
