About this work

Allegory on the Peace of Westphalia in 1648. The central depiction shows the German Emperor Ferdinand III surrounded by other princes. At his feet Peace and the defeated War. In the inscription three verses in Dutch, French and German. Surrounding the central scene six small border depictions each with four-line Dutch verses.
