About this work
Persecution of Protestants in England, France, the Netherlands and Ireland, 1685. Central depiction surrounded by ten small scenes illustrating the persecution and cruelties against Protestants by Catholics from the burning of Jan Hus in 1415 to 1687. At the bottom three scenes about events in England in recent years. Centrally two depictions of the pope trampling a king and a Jesuit with wolf's teeth who sells indulgences and suppresses the truth. All scenes have inscriptions in Dutch.
