Reproduction of the print with the digging up of the ramparts by the Antwerp citizens, 23 August 1577. Procession of armed Antwerp citizens with shovels and baskets on their way to the citadel. In the background, the demolition and digging up of the fortress. Representation in a round medallion with an ornamental allegorical frame, with the seated female personifications of Diligence (Diligentia) and Liberty (Libertas) at the top. At the bottom, a cartouche with two verses of six lines each in French and Dutch.
