About this work

Attack by three polar bears on the boats, 28 and 29 June 1597. The shot polar bear is eaten by the other two bears the next day. Copies of the original illustrations in the travel report of the voyage of Willem Barendsz and Jacob van Heemskerck in 1596-1597 and the stay on the island of Nova Zembla, No. 24.
