About this work
A soldier, full-length, pouring powder from a powder flask into the pan (the powder reservoir) of a musket (a specific type of firearm). In his left hand, besides the musket, a fork and a burning match, ca. 1645. Printed on the reverse with text in French. Free after plate 17 in the instructions for handling the musket in the Wapenhandelinghe by J. de Gheyn. Military affairs around 1600.
