About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) with his left hand near his left thigh, the barrel pointing diagonally upward. In his left hand, besides the musket, he also holds a fork (musket fork). With his right hand, he opens one of the powder measures on his bandolier. Printed on the reverse with text in French. Free copy after plate 23 in the instructions for handling the musket in the Wapenhandelinghe by J. de Gheyn. Military affairs around 1600.
