About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) with his right hand, the barrel pointing upwards, before transferring his weapon to his left hand (no. 3), ca. 1600. In his outstretched left hand a burning match. Plate 3 in the instructions for handling the musket.
